Novia is a generalist with a wealth of experience catering to the legal needs of multinationals and major Indonesian business groups. Prior to joining SA Partners in 2020 for over 12 years she headed the legal function at a global company that leads the field in security and investigations as well as one of the world’s largest commodity traders. Aside from having a special license an intellectual property attorney, Novia is adept at helping convey the nuances of Indonesian business law to foreign investors. 

As in house counsel in one of the famous international security company Novia handled trademark infringement cases and helped enterprises with substantial digital assets manage legal risks associated with counterfeiting, corporate espionage, and hacking. As legal manager at the large commodity trader company, Novia handled various legal matters and projects relating to commodities trading as well as financing, licensing and construction and operation of greenfield manufacturing projects.

Within the same role she also handled logistics work, including several major projects related to building warehouses in seaport zones, from financing, permits and compliance to procuring machinery, licensing proprietary technology and operations.

Novia holds a Bachelor’s Degree in law (S.H.) from University of Indonesia (1999) as well as a Master of Law Degree (M.H.), also from UI (2003). She is licensed to practice IP law by the Indonesian Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP). Novia is member of PERADI and the Indonesian Intellectual Property Attorneys Association (AKHKI).
