Riana K. Adiwidjaja
Riana is a co-founder and co-managing partner of SA Partners Law Office. She is a highly skilled lawyer with around 15 years of legal practice experience, divided between private practice and in-house work. She has a deep understanding of corporate law and has managed a range of complex cross-border transactions including mergers and acquisitions, as well as project finance and corporate and debt restructuring, always with due attention to the underlying commercial and tax considerations.
Riana left private practice as a senior lawyer in one of the top ten prominent law firms in Indonesia in 2006 and then moved to the legal department of a foreign telecommunication operator which was in early stages of establishing a business presence in Indonesia, acquiring assets and rolling out operations
Riana has a unique understanding of the needs of foreign investors due to her experience as in-house counsel. Before joining SA Partners, she was The Chief Legal Officer and The Senior Legal Counsel for two of the biggest group of commodities players in the region, including one which is the largest in the world. As a result, she has experience liaising with local counsel in jurisdictions such as Singapore, Vietnam, Korea and several other countries. As The Senior Legal Counsel for one of the largest commodities company in the world Riana was focused specifically on foreign investment into Indonesia. Working out of the Singapore regional office and later promoted to country head of legal for Indonesia, she has handled several green-field projects.
Riana completed her law degree at the University of Indonesia in 1997 and joined the bar in 2000. Riana has attended various seminars and workshops, domestic and international. Riana is member of ILUNI, PERADI, HKHPM, and IABC (International Association of Business Communicators).
